The Most Underrated Way to Grow on YouTube
deets inside.

KICKSTART YOUR YOUTUBE EMPIRE
Hey, this is Scott!
This week, we're looking at two creators in very different niches: personal finance and gardening. One helps people make smarter decisions with their money, while the other shows them how to get more out of their backyard.
I've also picked three videos covering fall gardening, building muscle during menopause, and gut health. What caught my attention is how each topic takes something people already care about and gives them a practical reason to watch.
Here's what I think they're getting right, where the business opportunities are, and what other creators can learn from them.
π‘Channel Idea #1
π Award: The European Money Mentor
ποΈ kViews:video ratio = 90 (medium)
π€ kSubs:video ratio = 4(medium)
π» Video product: ETF Investing, Financial Freedom
π Category: Personal Finance / Investing
π₯·π½ Difficulty:6/10
βAdSenseβ β
Scope: Yes
Details: Estimated monthly AdSense revenue is projected at $3,500 to $5,000
Brand Dealsβ
Scope: Yes
Details: Investment platforms, financial software, and portfolio tracking tools are natural fits. Personally, I'd be selective about sponsors here. When you're teaching people how to invest their savings, recommending the wrong financial product can cost you years of credibility.
βOwn Products β
Scope: Strong
Details: This is where Tom gets particularly interesting. He already has an investing education business, including his Index Masterclass. His YouTube content introduces the ideas, while his workshops and training let interested viewers learn more. That's a much stronger business model than relying on views alone.
π― Our take:
What This Channel Did Well: What I like about Tom is that he isn't trying to be another finance guru telling everyone which stock will explode tomorrow. He's focused on helping Europeans understand investing, particularly through ETFs and long-term strategies.
And that European positioning is important. Most investing advice on YouTube is heavily focused on Americans, even though investment products, taxes, and regulations can be very different elsewhere. Tom has found an audience with a specific problem and built his content around solving it.
Lessons for Aspiring Creators: You don't always need to invent a new niche. Sometimes you can take an established subject and serve an overlooked audience. That's often easier than competing with everyone.
Applying This Niche to Other Areas: I'd use this approach for regional tax advisers, immigration consultants, legal educators, and financial professionals. Find an audience underserved by mainstream advice and become their go-to resource.
Channel Worth: Estimated $300Kβ$700K, assuming a profitable education business with transferable revenue. This is not a verified valuation.
Production Costs: ~$4Kβ$7K/month for research, scripting, editing, and thumbnails.
π‘Channel Idea #2
π Award: The Backyard Harvest King
ποΈ kViews:video ratio = 110 (high)
π€ kSubs:video ratio = 5 (high)
π» Video product: Vegetable Gardening, Fruit Growing
π Category: Gardening / Home & Garden
π₯·π½ Difficulty: 5/10
βAdSenseβ β
Scope: Yes
Details: AdSense revenue is estimated between $8,500 and $9,500.
Brand Dealsβ
Scope: Yes
Details: Gardening tools, seed companies, irrigation systems, and outdoor equipment are obvious fits. What I like here is that the products can be demonstrated naturally. A creator can show exactly how a tool works in the garden rather than interrupting the video with an unrelated advertisement.
βOwn Products β
Scope: Strong
Details: The channel already uses affiliate links, an Amazon storefront, and merchandise. I'd explore downloadable planting calendars, garden planning guides, or region-specific growing resources next. These are products people can use while following along with the videos.
π― Our take:
What This Channel Did Well: I've always liked channels where the creator actually does the thing they're teaching. The Millennial Gardener is a great example. He's not sitting in a studio explaining how to grow tomatoes. He's showing you what works in his own garden.
And there's a surprisingly good content business hiding inside this niche. Every season creates new questions, every crop creates new problems, and every successful harvest gives people a reason to come back.
Lessons for Aspiring Creators: Don't underestimate ordinary hobbies. People will spend hours watching someone who can help them get better at something they already enjoy. And when you can show real results, you don't need to spend nearly as much time convincing them you're credible.
Applying This to Other Areas: I'd use the same framework for cooking, home improvement, woodworking, pet care, and DIY channels. Show the process, demonstrate the outcome, and recommend products that genuinely help.
Channel Worth: Estimated $500Kβ$1.2M for a profitable content business with its library, audience, and commercial income streams. Not a verified valuation.
Production Costs: ~$4Kβ$8K/month, including filming, editing, garden supplies, and equipment.

π₯ Video outlier #1
ποΈ Views:Subs ratio = 140 (high)
π» Video product: seasonal Gardening Tutorial
π Category: Gardening / DIY / Education
π₯·π½ Difficulty: 6/10
π° Our take:
I think the most interesting word in this title is "STILL." It makes the viewer feel like there's an opportunity they haven't missed yet, but they need to act soon.
That's clever packaging for a gardening video. Instead of another generic list of crops, it gives people a reason to watch right now. And the number five makes the advice feel manageable. The actual planting recommendations will depend on climate, but the title is a great example of turning seasonal information into something that feels urgent and useful.
Channel Worth: $100Kβ$300K illustrative valuation for a profitable gardening education channel, not a verified valuation of the video's publisher.
Production Costs: ~$300β$800/video, including filming, supplies, and editing.
π₯ Video outlier #2
ποΈ Views:Subs ratio = 150 (high)
π» Video product: Targeted Fitness Education
π Category: Women's Health / Fitness
π₯·π½ Difficulty: 5/10
π° Our take:
This is a great example of how narrowing your audience can make a video more attractive, not less. There are thousands of videos about building muscle, but this one speaks directly to women navigating menopause.
I particularly like the word "ONLY." It suggests viewers don't need to learn dozens of exercises or completely overhaul their routines. Just six. Of course, no six exercises are universally sufficient for everyone, but the packaging reduces the intimidation factor. That's a lesson I'd borrow for almost any educational channel: make the solution feel approachable without oversimplifying the actual advice.
Channel Worth: $150Kβ$400K illustrative valuation for a profitable specialist fitness education business.
Production Costs: ~$500β$1,500/video, including demonstrations, filming, editing, and expert review.
π₯ Video outlier #3
ποΈ Views:Subs ratio = 180 (high)
π» Video product: Health Education / Personal Insight
π Category: Gut Health / Wellness
π₯·π½ Difficulty: 7/10
π° Our take:
I've seen plenty of videos promising to fix gut health, but this title takes a different route. Instead of making another big health claim, it frames the information as something the creator wishes they'd discovered years earlier.
That makes it feel more personal. There's a sense of regret, experience, and curiosity all packed into one sentence. You start wondering what they learned and whether you've been overlooking the same thing.
Channel Worth: $100Kβ$350K illustrative valuation for a profitable health education channel with diversified revenue.
Production Costs: ~$500β$1,500/video, including research, production, editing, and medical fact-checking.
